What to inspect

The street preset sits at Aleksanterinkatu and Kluuvikatu. Look at shop fronts, parked objects and edges near the pavement. Aerial capture leaves blurred textures, missing undersides and warped ground-level geometry. The overview shows why the same mesh reads better from above.

Walk follows available mesh height, with approximate clearance. It has no wall collision or route planning. Fly ignores the ground. Wait for streaming to settle before judging textures; coarse tiles also blur the view. Detail changes tile resolution and download cost, not the capture method. Fine detail can stream substantial data.

Streams the city’s public textured 3D Tiles, not Google data or CityGML boxes. Data is not reprocessed; this demo adds camera controls. Original coordinates: ETRS-GK25 / N2000. Published tiles: WGS 84 geocentric coordinates.

Street position checked against OpenStreetMap, © OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL). This is not an OSM basemap.

Rendered with CesiumJS (Apache 2.0). FPS measures this viewer’s rendered frames, not a fair cross-engine benchmark. Requires WebGL2 and the city’s server. If loading fails, open the official interactive viewer and select Helsinki (2024) under Mesh models.
